The first step toward wearing contact lenses is usually a complete eye exam. At that time you can learn if you are a good candidate for contacts. During your eye exam we can discuss how well you are likely see with contacts, and the estimated costs for the contacts as well as for the contact lens services.

Students are frequently fitted with contacts in 5th or 6th grade if they are motivated to wear them and are good candidates for contacts. Persons can wear contacts in their seventies and eighties if they do not have unusually dry eyes and they are able to handle them.

If you currently wear contact lenses, it is best to bring them with you when you have your eye exam so that we can most easily deicide on a plan for your contacts. It is helpful to bring your old prescription or the boxes that your lenses come in if you have those items. This makes it easier for us to decide on a plan for your future contact lens wear, enabling us to save time and you to save money.

Many people who require a different correction for reading than they do for distance vision are interested in contacts. There are a variety of options available in both soft and gas permeable hard contacts. Some persons wear glasses part time in addition to their contact lenses.
